How a SunSprint lease works

We take on the cost, the paperwork and the upkeep. You get lower energy costs from the day the system turns on.

  1. 1

    Free site review

We look at your roof or land, shading, and your last 12 months of electric bills. No cost and no obligation.

  2. 2

    Proposal and monthly rate

You get a system design and your monthly lease rate, side by side with what you pay the utility today.

  3. 3

    Permits and installation

We handle engineering, permits, utility approval and installation with our licensed installation partner.

  4. 4

    Solar powers your building

Your building uses solar first. We monitor production and handle maintenance and repairs for the full term.

  5. 5

    The system becomes yours

At the end of the lease term, the system becomes yours for a minimal payment.

Built for small commercial properties

We size systems for small and mid-sized buildings, from a single storefront to a warehouse roof.

Good signs you're a fit

  • You own the building, or have the owner's approval
  • A sunny roof in good shape, with years of life left
  • Steady electricity use during the day
  • You'd rather keep capital in the business than buy panels

Retail and strip centers

Long, flat roofs and steady daytime demand from lighting and cooling.

Warehouses and light industrial

Large open roofs that can carry a bigger system and offset more of the bill.

Offices and medical buildings

Daytime-heavy energy use that lines up with when solar produces.

Farms and agricultural buildings

Barn and shed roofs that help cover pumps, cooling and storage.

Nonprofits and houses of worship

Tax-exempt owners still benefit through a lower rate.

Auto shops and service businesses

Compressors, lifts and bay lighting make for a steady daytime load.

Leasing vs. buying a system

Both put solar on your roof. A lease keeps your capital free and puts the upkeep on us.

Feature SunSprint lease Buying a system
Upfront cost $0 The full system price, paid in cash or financed
Monthly cost A lease rate lower than what you pay the utility today Loan payments, if you financed the system
Tax credits and depreciation Built into your lower rate, with no tax paperwork for you You claim them, if you have enough tax liability to use them
Maintenance and monitoring Included for the full term Your responsibility and your cost
Repairs Covered by SunSprint Paid by you once warranties run out
Ownership Yours at the end of the term for a minimal payment Yours from day one

Questions business owners ask

Don't see yours? Email info.sunsprint@gmail.com and we'll answer it.

Does it really cost nothing to get started?

Yes. SunSprint pays for the site review, design, permits, equipment and installation. Your monthly payments start once the system is producing power for your building.

What happens if I sell the building?

The lease can transfer to the new owner, or you can buy out the system. Your proposal spells out both options.

Who takes care of the system?

We do. SunSprint monitors production and handles maintenance and repairs for the full lease term, at no extra cost to you.

What if my roof needs work?

We check roof condition during the site review. If your roof is near the end of its life, it's best to replace it before the panels go up, and we'll tell you if that's the case.

Can a nonprofit or house of worship lease?

Yes. Tax-exempt organizations benefit the same way other businesses do, through a lower monthly rate with no upfront cost.

Where do you work?

We serve small commercial properties across New Jersey. If you're nearby and not sure, ask us.
